Yes! Once a student begins an assignment you will be able to edit their displayed name at any point. Whether student submissions are displaying under their school ID or you have a class clown ? who refuses to use their real name, you can update which name you see!

Note: Changing the student's name will change how the name is displayed everywhere in the app. This change is only for your view as the Teacher. It will not change how the student enters the assignment. They will still need to use the original name, email, or username they used to access the assignment. 

To change the name, click on the student's name you want to edit so that their assignment opens in review mode. On the left side of the assignment, you will see their name with an "Edit" button next to it. 

Click "Edit" and this pop-up will appear:

Type in the name you'd prefer and click Save. 

Can I change all the students display names at once?

Currently, TeacherMade only lets you edit the displayed names for the students in a single assignment. The name you enter gets used everywhere else throughout the application. There is no single screen that allows you to edit the names of all your students at once. If you think that would be a useful addition, let us know at support@teachermade.com!
