Our incredible Product Development team has been busy adding features that you asked for! Now, you can create Google Classroom assignments that will be released to students at a date and time in the future!

To schedule a Google Classroom assignment, choose the "Schedule" option for "Assignment Status."

When you choose "Schedule," a new option will appear that allows you to set the Date and Time that the assignment will be released to your students.

Choose the date and time you wish students to start working on this assignment. You can type values directly or choose the date and time from the picker displayed below the field. When you click "Save," the assignment will be created as a "Draft" in each of the Google Classrooms you had selected earlier.

Once you've created the assignment, you can only change the schedule from inside Google Classroom. Visit the class in question, and open the "Classwork" tab. You will see the assignment at the bottom of the list:

Click to select the assignment within Google Classroom, then choose "Edit assignment." Google will allow you to change the schedule as you wish.

Note that the assignment will not appear to students at all until the date and time you specify.
