What Teacher and Student Data Does TeacherMade Collect?

TeacherMade is an online tool that lets classroom Teachers import PDF and other static documents then add digital interactive elements to them. The resulting activities are assigned to students by sharing weblinks or by assigning through a Learning Management System such as Google Classroom, Canvas or Schoology. Students complete the activities, possibly adding images or audio, then Teachers review and annotate the work and return it to the students.

TeacherMade collects the following Teacher data:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • School and district name and location
  • Subjects and grades taught
  • Minimal data structures from external systems to facilitate Single Sign On and Learning Management
  • Original text, graphics, and audio generated in the construction of digital interactivities on our platform.
  • Original text, graphics, and audio generated in response to submissions of student work

TeacherMade collects the following Student data:

  • First and last name
  • Email address to differentiate students with same names. TeacherMade does not email students.
  • Minimal data structures from external systems used for Learning Management
  • Original text, graphics and audio generated at teacher discretion as part of their assigned work
  • Scores calculated by the platform and/or entered by the teacher

TeacherMade protects these data in a very secure, regularly reviewed architecture and will be happy to respond in detail to any security review or data privacy agreements required by your district. It's worth noting in particular that:

  • All data in the TeacherMade application is encrypted both in transit and at rest
  • All data in the TeacherMade application is housed in the United States.
