Tour of the Student Toolbar




Select a Shape Tool: 

This tool is used to select any tool, button, and/or shape that is drawn on the assignment.



Undo and Redo: 

Removes a student's last action; reapplies a student's last action. 



Zoom In/Out:

Allows a student to increase or decrease the view of their assignment.  

 


Delete Selected Shape: 

After clicking on an object/shape that a student drew, the ‘Trash Can' icon will become clickable. Students can click on the icon to remove the selected item.



Copy Selected Object: 

After clicking on an object/shape that a student drew, the ‘Copy Selected Object’ icon will become clickable. The student can then click on the icon to duplicate the selected item.



Add Text: (Teacher-enabled when making an Assignment)

After clicking on the ‘Add Text’ icon, the student will be able to draw a textbox on their assignment. They may resize the textbox by pulling on the lower right-hand corner. 



Text Size: 

Students have the option to choose the text size used in each text box. When they click on this icon, they can a variety of sizes from 8pt to 32pt font.



Add Math Expression Tool: (Teacher-enable when making an Assignment) 

Your students use this tool to write mathematical expressions on their assignments. After clicking, students have the option to use the 123, f(), or Other symbol sets to show their work.

Upload Image: (Teacher-enable when making an Assignment) 

Students click on this icon to upload an image from their computer onto their assignment. They must click on ‘Upload from Computer,’ from the drop-down that appears. They may also drag and drop an image file or paste from the clipboard via Crtl+V.



Record Audio: (Teacher-enable when making an Assignment) 

By clicking on the microphone icon, the ‘Record Audio’ prompt will appear. Using it, students are able to record audio and place it in their assignment.




Click on the red button to start the recording and the dark gray square to end the recording. The timeline/controls will appear below the buttons. Students will be able to listen to their recording by pressing the play symbol. They may also change the volume and/or the playback speed.


By clicking ‘Reset’ they may re-record their audio; ‘Save & Close’ will save it to their assignment.



Insert Link: (Teacher-enable when making an Assignment) 

By clicking on this ‘link’ icon, your students will be able to insert a clickable URL into their assignment. Their mouse will turn into crosshairs and they will be able to drag and draw a box. A prompt will appear for them to enter the link for them to input. They can test to make sure their link works by clicking on the ‘Test’ button. Clicking on ‘OK’ will attach the link to the worksheet.



Draw a square or rectangle: 

Students are able to drag their mouse and draw squares and rectangles on their activity. This is a great tool to use for notetaking.



Draw a circle or ellipse: 

Students are able to drag and draw circles and ellipses on their activity. This is a great tool to use for notetaking. 



Draw a line: 

Students are able to draw lines on their worksheet. This is a great tool to use to underline important information in a text.



Highlighter: 

Students are able to highlight information on their activity. This is a great tool to use for notetaking.



Freehand draw: 

Students use this tool to freehand draw on their assignment. This is a great tool for notetaking, annotating, and drawing.



Erase Shapes: 

After clicking on this icon, the mouse will turn into an eraser, allowing students to quickly erase shapes from their assignments. 



Fill Color: 

By clicking on ‘Fill Color’ students will be able to choose a color from the drop down menu that appears to fill in their shapes. 




Line Color:

By clicking on ‘Line Color,’ students will be able to choose a color from the drop-down menu and apply it to borders or lines that they've drawn.




Line Width: 

Line Width allows your students to change the thickness of any line they've drawn on their assignment. They may choose a line width from 2 pts (skinny) to 9 pts (wide). 



Help: 

Students are provided with two short videos they can watch at any time: ‘How to enter your answers’ and ‘How to use the tools.’




Finish Later: 

Students will click on this button to save their work to finish at a later time. TeacherMade will prompt all students with the following message after choosing this option: 

"Your work on this assignment has been saved for later. You may close this window. If you want to continue your work, you may reload the worksheet."



Submit: 

Students click on this button to submit their assignments when done.
