No, there is no way to automatically return a student submission by email. 

When you return work to a student, you should let them know however you usually communicate information to them (in an email, posting in your class stream, etc.). They will be able to access their returned work using the same link the originally used to access the assignment. 

If you want to send a student a copy of their work via email, you can download their submission as PDF (using the print function) and attach it to the email!
